So this week I felt my first earthquake. It was a 6.1 in Valporaiso, not too big, but it made our house shake. It was a pretty cool experience actually. Just the whole room started shaking. Kinda fun.
So anyway, not much has happened this week. You have those weeks in the mission where everything is just a little bit slower than usual. One of the elders in our district broke our phone, or more specifically he WASHED our phone, because he accidentally threw it in the washer. We went a few days without a phone, which really made me appreciate that we have them. Also we had the census this week. We had to stay in our house until they came buy to count us. Just know if you see a number like the population of Chile, Im part of that number. They also asked us weird questions like what are the walls and the roof of our house are made of. Who do I look like, Bob the Builder? We went with what we felt was a good answer: wood and cement. That seemed to be good enough the censuser. So yeah, thats what happened this week.

Hello all, Elder Thompson here.
Now you may be wondering about the subject. Theres a great stroy behind that. So we got invited for what is called once at our ward mission leaders house. For those of you that dont know, they dont eat dinner here, they eat once, which is kind of like something small, like bread and ham or avocado, right before you go to bed. Anyway we were there and my companion was talking about how much he like avocado. Hes got the nickname "Elder Trump" because he always talks about Donald Trump. So anyway they wanted to take a picture of us, so my companion was holding some bread with avocado, and we posed for the picture and the lady taking the picture said,"Say Trumpvacado!" We bascically died laughing. And now its a thing. Anyway, things have been pretty good. Chile is gonna have a census this wednesday, and it is required by law that evey has to stay in their house untill they are counted, so we cant go out to work on wednesday. Thats ok, weve got some pretty cool families that weve been working with. The Luengo Family are really cool. Their names are Eduardo and Romina, and have a 2 year old son named Thomas. Hes crazy. But anyway, hes got some doubts about the Word of Wisdom, but he comes to church every week, so its just a matter of time. He says he would love to be a Mormon, but he does want to give up coffee. Hope all is well with you guys. Peace out. Till next week. |
