Hello all,
Super excited for General Conference here. First of all, all 10 (yes we got 2 more) of our baptismal dates fell, because the didnt come to church. Yeah sad I know, but we are going to try with them for this week because it General Conference! That is a lot easier for them because the only have to come to one session. You can always count on the prophet. Anyway they had a huge concert for the 175th aniversery of the Relif Society. It was really big. A lot of government officials from Chile came, and it was really cool. We werent actually able to watch it, but we heard great things. Anyway. I miss all you guys. Have fun where ever you are.

So this week weve been working really hard. Basically we made a goal that we will have a baptism on the 9th of April. That is exactly what theyve been teaching us to do. They told us that if we had faith anything is possible, so we put that goal in faith knowing that if we did our part, then the Lord would do the rest. And let me tell you, He did.
We put baptismal dates with 8 people this week, which means if everything goes to plan 8 people will be baptized on the 9th of April. That just goes to show you that faith is everything. The Lord has blessed us so much. All we have to do is be obedient, and He does the rest. This week has been a real help to my testimony that this is the work of the Lord. I would go through and tell you guys all about them, but well wait till next week, cause Im short on time. Anyway we just had changes, and good news, I get to stay in Belloto for 6 more weeks! Honestly I would have been mad if I got changed and putting 8 baptismal dates, but I guess the Lord knows best where we need to be. Im just happy He let me stay here. Although I am sad to see my good friends leave, I know that they will do well where ever they go. I love you all! Hello everybody,
Everything is chill in good old Belloto. I figured out that bellota in Spanish means accorn, so I guess belloto means a manly accorn? I dont know, maybe one day well figure it out. First of all, we had zone conference this week. It was cool. They told us to start teaching people about temples, and invite people to be baptized for their ancestors as well as for themselves. Weve already starting doing it and weve seen lots of miracles. There was also a huge fire in Viña, really close to my old area Chorrillos. We could see the smoke and it looked huge. I hope everything is alright over there. We have 3 investigators with a baptismal date. There names are Alejandra, Elisa and Neli. Alejandra is what we call an eternal investigator, which means she basically doesnt want to progress. But theyve told us to try and if she doesnt progress then to leave her alone for a while. Elisa was an old investigator, but we put a baptismal date with her and her daughter, Neli, who had never heard the missionaries before. Well see how all this goes. I miss all you guys and hope you are all well! So this week was interesting.
First of all we went to this members house cause he said that he had a reference for us. So we made a plan with him that we were going to make brownies and then teach his friend. So we got together a couple of days before to find the recipe and make sure he had all the stuff. He said he had everything except chocolate chips and baking soda, but he said he would go to the store and buy them before we got there. So we get there and start making the brownies and we notice that there are not chocolate chips. So we say (obviously in Spanish, Im just translating for all you gringos)," Derek (that was his name), where are the chocolate chips." He just looks at us and says,"Oh yeah, I forgot to get those." Alright, luckily there was some chocolate powder stuff that smelled pretty good, so we dumped a lot of that in there. Then it came time to put in the baking soda, and we couldnt find that either. So we asked,"Derek where is the baking soda?" Im sad to say it didnt surprise us when he said,"Oh yeah, I forgot that too." Thanks Derek. So we made brownies without chocolate chips or baking soda, and also Id like to point out that his friend never did show up. But thats the mission for ya. Also, one day I went to go get a Book of Mormon out of our box where we kept them, and right when I reached down to grab one, a giant lizard jumped out from the curtains next to it. It was terrifying, that thing was huge. Luckily we caught it and let it go, but now weve got to call our landlord to lizard proof the house (broma, joke for all you gringos). Also for the first time in a while, we had an investigator come to church. His name was Thomas, and hes almost 8, so technically hes not an investigator yet, but it counts in my mind. It was really cool because this ward hasnt had an investigator come to church in over a year. It was cool. I hope all is well, and I hope all stays well. I miss you guys! |
