We are really excited because Gonzalo made the decision to be baptized this week. We are so happy for him. We can't wait to see how he progresses in the church. I'll send some photos of that.
Well, that was basically our biggest event this week. We've been working really hard to try and find new investigators so we can baptize them also. We're gonna keep working! It's been getting a little hot here, but that's ok, not too hot. We're really excited to be on a mission.

I guess it's gettting a lot hotter here. People keep telling me that it gets hot here. I have to agree with them, it is hot, but not anything like Las Vegas. Still, the heat is not very comfortable in a shirt and tie.
Somethings that happened this week, well first of all Gonzalo has a baptismal date for the 28th of October. He's completely changed and now he only wants to serve the Lord. We are really excited for him. We've really learned a lot about the power of the Book of Mormon. It's a really good read, I would recommend it to everyone. Well, I guess that's all. I have one more month here in Las Americas, and I'm going to make the best of it. I miss you guys! First of all, we had our P-Day today because our Mission President had a conference in Argentina, so we had to change our P-Day to today. I guess it makes sense in someone's mind, I don't really understand, but that's ok.
So I'm staying in Las Americas. I will complete 6 months here, and probably in 6 more week I will leave. I really love it here. There was only one change in the zone. Hermana McDonough went to Achupallas. Lets have a moment of silence for her. We've been having a pretty good time here. We've been finding really good people. Our good friend Gonzalo came to church this week. He's really excited to be baptized. I've been practicing my bread making skills. I have to say they are improving. I hope I can one day make it like the Chileans. I guess that's all. Until next week. I really thought it would start getting warmer, with it being spring and all here. But no, it's just been as cloudy as ever. It has been getting warmer, but then it just rains again, I don't really know what to think.
Anyway, in our zone this week, the zone leader came up with a game to I guess inspire us to work harder or something, I don't really know, but they assigned each missionary in the zone a super hero. I was Iron Man, which is great because I love Iron Man. Some other ones that I thought were funny were: Elder Orellana - Magneto (I thought he was a villian, but whatever), Elder Qwalic - Frozone (He's white), and Sister Sanchez - Hulk (Um yeah, I guess that makes sense). The point of the game was that every companionship had to come up with a scripture and a challenge for their super heroes. I found Alma 10:4-5 to describe Iron Man, and I think I pretty much nailed it. But anyway, that was pretty fun. As for the bread report, this past week I made bread again. It looked more like bread this time, but I put too much yeast in it so it had a little weird taste. But we're progressing, that's all that matters. We're gonna try again today. Well I guess thats all for this week. Until the next one. I just want all of you to know I love conference! I know that everyone one of you that watched with me knows the beauty of conference. For those of you that didn't watch conference, repent! Haha just kidding, but seriously, it was good, you should watch it.
I really liked how there were so many of even the Apostles that took President Monson's challenge to obtain a greater testimony of the Book of Mormon. I've been studying a lot about the the power of the Book of Mormon, and I've come to the conclusion that it is even more important for us as missionaries. If these people can't obtain testimony of the Book of Mormon, there is no way they will be converted to the Gospel. It should be the center of everything that we do. Im really excited for this week to apply the things I learned in conference. I hope that you all do the same. Until next week. |
